Watt Brief launches weekday public-record brief for data-center site selection

New email tracks interconnection queues, permits, PUC dockets, and related filings — before they show up in trade press

United States — September 9, 2026

Watt Brief today launched a weekday email of public-record data-center deltas for people who place, interconnect, and build large loads.

Watt Brief is not a trade magazine and not a comps database. Each paid issue is a short set of rows keyed to real documents: interconnection and large-load queues, county permits and land-use votes, PUC and utility dockets, material 8-Ks, and related public filings. The product’s rule is simple — one fact per row, sent once, and only returned if the underlying record itself changed. Empty mornings are skipped rather than padded.

“The signal that changes a colo or hyperscale site visit usually shows up in a docket, a queue posting, or a hearing notice weeks before it is a headline. Watt Brief surfaces those moves with a source URL and the document ID the agency printed — not a recap of yesterday’s press.”
